Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup water or beef broth
  • 6 taco shells or soft tortillas
Optional Toppings
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Shredded cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Avocado or guacamole
  • Chopped fresh cilantro

Method
 

  1. I heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. I add the chopped onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until soft, then stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. I add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until fully browned. I drain excess fat if needed.
  4. I season the beef with paprika, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
  5. I pour in the water or beef broth and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until flavorful.
  6. I warm the taco shells or tortillas according to the package instructions.
  7. I divide the beef evenly into the shells to make 6 tacos and add my favorite toppings.

Notes

  • I adjust the seasoning to taste before serving.
  • For extra heat, I add cayenne pepper or hot sauce.
  • Leftover beef can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
