These cinnamon French toast bites are golden, soft on the inside, and lightly crisp on the outside. I make them with a simple egg mixture and finish them with sweet toppings for a quick and cozy breakfast or snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large egg
  • 30 ml milk about 2 tablespoons
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 slices bread white or sandwich bread
  • Butter or oil for frying
Optional Toppings:
  • Brown sugar + cinnamon
  • Honey
  • Whipped cream
  • Fresh fruit blueberries, strawberries, etc.

Method
 

  1. Crack the egg into a shallow bowl.
  2. Add the milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  3. Whisk everything together until fully combined.
  4. Lightly toast the bread for a short time so it holds its shape.
  5. Dip the bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly.
  6. Heat a pan over medium heat and add butter or oil.
  7. Fry the bread until golden brown on both sides.
  8. Remove from the pan and cut into bite-sized pieces if desired.
  9. Add your favorite toppings and serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not soak the bread too long to avoid sogginess.
  • Cook on medium heat for even browning.
  • Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
