Beef and Potato Skillet Recipe

A simple one-pan beef and potato skillet made with tender marinated beef and golden fried potatoes, finished with savory sauces and black pepper.

Ingredients
  

For the Beef Marinade
  • 500 g beef cut into even bite-size pieces
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • ½ tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • ½ tablespoon cooking oil
  • ½ tablespoon starch cornstarch
  • Black pepper to taste
For the Skillet
  • 3 medium potatoes diced
  • Cooking oil for frying
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • ½ tablespoon oyster sauce
  • Black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Cut the beef into even pieces and place in a bowl.
  2. Add soy sauce, dark soy sauce, cooking oil, starch, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly coated.
  3. Marinate the beef for 30 minutes.
  4. Dice the potatoes into small cubes.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and fry the potatoes until fully cooked and lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
  6. In the same pan, add a little oil and fry the marinated beef until fully cooked.
  7. Add the fried potatoes back into the pan with the beef.
  8. Pour in light soy sauce and oyster sauce.
  9. Add black pepper and stir-fry everything evenly for 2–3 minutes.
  10. Remove from heat and serve hot.

Notes

  • Marinating the beef helps keep it tender and flavorful.
  • Frying the potatoes separately prevents them from becoming soggy.
  • Adjust black pepper to your taste.
